Since I saw Raie doing the talking about her main characters, I wanted to do it too~ I think her ramblings are really interesting to read. > v <

I should get a picture of Tuerie for this post, but oh well. I’ll update this later.

I feel like I should not force myself to produce ramblings, but just let my hands type what I want to talk about. This method worked when I wanted to write the one shot of Nightwalkers~ Yeah. I ramble on a lot about nonsense stuff. But anyways! Things behind this are again, rather spoilerific, so click Read More if you want to venture in my nonsense babble.

Okay! So Tuerie is part of the two significant families in the first part of the story — the Meris family. This family consists of nobles in the morning, but at night they are hunters. Assassins. Looking for the source for immortality. (Her family is related to Coffee/Tea. WUH. I need to develop the original royal family aside from Coffee and Tea haha…) So a ‘fairy tale’ have been told in this family that the King (Coffee) stole the magic source of the Divine (Kuroi) and never dies — rumors are told that the King and his Acquaintance (Tea) is still alive!

See, in this world magic is not a given thing anymore. You can’t just ‘obtain’ magic without giving anything back in return! (Coffee does it, and ends up pretty badly. Same thing with Estelle — the whole story is about trading!) However, you can obtain magic by being in a close distance for a certain number of days to… be influenced by the magic. Depending on who you are, the effect of the influence will be different.

SO UH. ABOUT TUERIE. She is this clumsy one of the family! Bad eyesight, poor aiming, blah blah. She is just kind of the black sheep. The girl is pretty fearless, though, and she doesn’t mind anything to prove to her family that she actually is worth something. Though she really hates the negative feedbacks from her relatives, and often goes into the Forbidden Forest to cry. She appears really abrasive to her family members — which makes her more of an outcast. But when one gets to become her friend, she’s very loyal. Which is why Felix/Estelle play such a huge role in the story! Ahaha.

She’s also rather gullible and naive, because she is not exposed to the outside world that often. She also doesn’t hunt very well (as mentioned in the last paragraph), so when it comes to life-taking moments, she can’t do it well. Which is also when she actually makes a decision about it, she will suffer from trauma… for a long time. Surpassing life spans. Heeeey!

So yeah, during one of her angsty teenager moments in the forest, she met Felix — and strangely enough, they became really close friends. They also met a really nice guy in the forest who taught them how to do cool stuff with magic. Wait, you said, they can’t just have magic without giving anything back! Well, that’s why there is Influence. Eventually the two realize that they’re pretty much hanging out with a Warlock, so the Warlock directs their magic in a way that is useful for them. Felix has the ability to locate magic sources, which becomes veeery useful, but that’s for another talk.

At one point later in the first arc Tuerie gets injured by one of the Dolls, but the family believes that the other Family is the reason why she got hurt. So a huge war between the two biggest families happens! Shit goes down. And then Tuerie dies, but she relives again because she gets into contact with the Magic 8 Ball thrown to her by Felix. The ending for this arc is rather abrupt and I haven’t made it concrete yet, but perhaps Felix is stuck in a fatal position and gives the magic ball to her friend, who is on the opposite side of her family. She is being chased down by the Dolls or all that. Tuerie tries to escape, but she also fails. For some reason she gets revived into her old self (just not remembering anything), while Felix turns into a different person. I need to get that sorted out as well.

In Arc 2, after learning about the Fall from Grace of Estelle, Tuerie wants to save her friend. Of course, learning about it from Devini, who is the person who organizes the Rebellion back in the days against Kuroi, let’s just say that she gets brainwashed. Valse learns about this and tells her the truth, though, so in the end Devini receives a not so happy ending. And then she dies. Again. Gets revived in Arc 3. I can’t remember why she keeps living anymore. SOB. I need to get things sorted out for the main character.

Fun fact! Tuerie (her first name) and Meris (her last name) both mean Death.

Why do people lie?

Later on, let’s look more into the psychology of society.

(I want to know more about this because though I value honesty, I find myself a liar from time to time. Hell, before coming to Exeter, I lied about a lot of things. I exaggerated my issues by a lot. And I’m really curious whether there is a plain and solid reason (psychologically and) biologically that I keep on doing that. Also, the chemistry of lying and how to detect whether someone is lying as well.

Color Psychology.

I was going to make a new Tumblr blog for some random things I want to learn about psychology, but for now I’m just going to barf some things I collected over the net that is relevant to the topic on here. (Since a lot of Cataegis has to do with psychology.)

Why does color affect emotions?

“Colors have certain wavelengths, which can be felt and experienced. Emotions have certain wavelengths, which you can also feel and directly experience. Colors and Emotions are both composed of real physical vibrations. This means these movements of energy are affecting you even if you don’t know it. Because I remembered someone had a post about Avatar: The Last Airbender and how each of its female character has a unique theme surrounding them. Toph with her victory over her disability, Katara with being the mother connection between everyone, Yue with giving up her life for her people, blah blah. I thought it was really interesting, so I wrote a list on my own.

About Tea.

Some concept sketches for Tea! And how his redesign is going to look like. More middle-eastern inspired because the era he is in is influenced a lot by the Ottoman Empire era.

It’s actually really fun to draw him, now! Hecouldneverescapedrapyclothes.Nope.

I feel like I should ramble about him a little bit. HMM HMM. He’s one of the characters who are going to appear in the very beginning. Timeline-wise and story-wise.

After the cut, the material is very heavily spoiled. So take precaution.

Tea’s real name is not Tea. (Really, who would be named Tea? Nope. Tea, Coffee and Lait were actually the names I first gave them. Because they were originally just there for me to write a story about disability.

IN CASE YOU DON’T KNOW. Coffee-Lait-Tea are my disable trio.

How they commute was a mystery to me back in the days when I created them.)

His name is Rehan Avakian. (Rehan - Smell; Avakian - Oldest — Armenian)

I started using Tea a lot more last summer through WA, and a little bit of his story was unraveled to me. I rethought about many things in his life, and oh boy.

So many things have changed, haha.

I felt like whenever I put a character in an AU, I could never count them off as someone different from their canon self. That’s why many small details are added in the actual main story. Estelle with her purgatory self, Tea and the trade for magic in exchange of his eyesight, so on and so forth.

He was created in the beginning as this cute little blind man who is sweet but also quite arrogant; well mannered, and took a liking to Lait. Simple as that. Ofcoursecockblockinghisbrotherfromhisloveinterest. It was supposed to be a story about a love triangle. BecauseIwasasuckerforshoujo.

Then I started to make him the creator of the dolls.

No, he’s not the creator, as Kuroi was the one who wanted the dolls made. So technically, Kuroi is the main creator. (He also made a contract with Kuroi a few times; first time is his eyesight for the ability of using magic, and second time was to retrieve his power source back, but ended up betrayed by Kuroi. So he played a prank on Kuroi with Amelia, and ended up quite tragically. But ANYWAYS.)

His brother was the one stole Kuroi’s magic source in the first place, and that’s why they lived on forever. SURPRISE.

(You guys are probably wondering what Kuroi is.

He’s technically the Creator.

Yeah, the one who created everything.

THIS STORY WILL DEAL WITH RELIGIONS AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER. Because it’s fun to write about when you have an unbiased opinion.

Whoa I’m going off tangent. ~~This is why this blog is mainly for me and my creativity vomit.~~ )

Tea ended up from a sweet man with virtually no stain in his personality until now. One of the biggest sins he had was Envy, which was the reason why he made a contract with Kuroi for a second time. He’s actually quite greedy for power, as well.

He’s a good man with good intentions, but Kuroi just sees it in a different light.

When Kuroi wants him to create the dolls for him, he asks for something in return. Because for such a huge task, you would want to be fair, right?

He wants to make all of the disabilities of the trio disappear.

Toldyouhe’sagoodguy.

Kuroi later sees his prank, though — and hell is he angry. So he messes around with Tea’s vision and thought process for a while, and let him realize something crucial.

His love interest is the spy for Kuroi all along. (The reason will be explained later.)

Wow this is a long ramble. But ANYWAYS. Karma’s a bitch.

That’s pretty much all I can say about my series.

Trading is fair, but life isn’t. Karma will also bite you in the butt.

TL;DR: He’s a blind mage who gets his magic from trading his eyesight; he also suffers from synesthesia and is famous all around the world at that current time because his power is Soul Sending. (meaning he can input a soul/personality into any object.)

He’s always envious of his brother, and ends up destroying them both.

This was the lining up of all the OCs who belong to a series prior to Cataegis (including the series’ names/concepts (for the ones whose names are undecided), but all of this is going to be meshed into Cataegis now. LOL

Why the name Cataegis?

I originally wanted to find an alternate word for “Imperfection” because even though it’s my original title, I think there’s a book by the same name, and that may lead to copyright issues. LOL

Cataegis means ‘flaw’, but also ‘hurricane’. Which is probably how the story’s gonna go down. Tangled connections, madness, chaos, etc.

All of my characters are technically considered main characters.

Even though the story follows Tuerie, each of the character has their own story surrounding them and such. (With Kuroi, that’s a huge factor.)

A lot of people have asked me that if Tuerie is my favorite character. She’s actually not, but when I write stories that include her, she tends to have more leeway because I have a soft spot for my very first original character. u v u;; She was originally made for a self-including fiction thing on SNAFU when I first joined, and BOY did she change a lot.

I don’t know where to put Seruchi in the new plot, though. That’s the thing.

Also, today marks the day that I’m changing Imperfection’s name! I like Latin because it has cool words. Notreallyintoitforthegrammar,though.
